I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Lodge in Lydney. The decoration was tastefully done, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The hotel had plenty of seating areas where I could relax and read a book or chat with fellow guests. As a senior woman, I appreciated the hotel's accessibility, with well-maintained ramps and handrails in all the necessary areas.
I would have asked for a better vacation experience if the children working there had been more attentive in assisting me with my luggage.

The property had a sick garden where we chilled and had mad banter. The place was just a short drive from the Forest of Dean, so we shredded it on our bikes and did some sick exploring. The hosts were bare cool, giving us loads of info on the best spots for young people to party and have a good time.
The only thing we would have loved to have at The Lodge was a banging sound system for our parties. It would have taken our stay from lit to absolute banger!

The cottage was so comfy and had everything we needed, like a fully stocked kitchen and loads of cool games and DVDs. Plus, the beds were like sleeping on fluffy clouds! The hosts were super friendly and even gave us a tour of their farm. And best of all, it was only a short drive to Kingsholm Stadium for all the sick rugby action!
The only thing that could've made our stay even more lit would've been if there was a sick party room with strobe lights and a DJ booth. That would've been wicked!

Title: A Delightful Stay in Lovely Surroundings
Just one small improvement would have made the vacation even better for senior guests. It would have been helpful if the children working there could have provided a handrail or grab bar in the bathroom for added safety and support.

As young families, we loved the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and the great selection of DVDs, Lego, and board games. the hosts were fantastic, taking the time to show our daughter around the farm even though they were busy with lambing.
Felt right at home, no complaints.

The Lodge absolutely blew us away on our repeat visit! It is such a mind-blowing and super comfortable place to stay, with its own beautiful garden, patio area, and free parking for our cars. The location is jaw-droppingly convenient, giving us amazing access to the Forest of Dean and a short drive to Lydney for shopping and dining. The heating system was top-notch, keeping us warm and cozy during our November stay, and the log burning stove added an extra touch of charm. The cottage was exceptionally clean and well-equipped, with a spacious kitchen/diner, separate lounge, and a fabulous bathroom with a large shower and bath. The bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, and we loved having the ensuite shower room in the upstairs double room. The hosts were fantastic, friendly, and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. Plus, the little farm on the premises was a great bonus, with our daughter getting to explore and be shown around despite the hosts being busy with lambing. We were amazed by the attention to detail, from cutlery for toddlers to a puncture outfit for cyclists. The Lodge far exceeded our expectations, and if we ever find ourselves in this area again, we will definitely try to book it and recommend it to others.
